Solthani

The Solthani are the descendants of the Solthir, one of the ancient Elethar (semi-immortal elves) created to embody the sun’s radiance and purity. Once the rulers of a vast and advanced empire in the Sunlit Sea—a desert now haunted by ruins and memories—their civilization fell to time and war. Yet, the Solthani endure, their bloodline carrying the divine spark of their Solthir ancestors.

Physically, Solthani appear humanoid, their features resembling a blend of elves and humans. Their skin often bears darker tones with golden metallic patterns forming intricate, geometric designs across their bodies. These designs sometimes grow into faintly luminous plates, revealing their ancestral connection to their radiant lineage. They have golden-blond hair, freckles that glimmer faintly, and eyes that shine with a metallic gold hue.

While many Solthani still wander the Sunlit Sea or its surrounding lands, others have taken to the wider world, seeking a purpose or simply survival amidst its challenges. Their divine ancestry manifests in subtle but undeniable ways, granting them abilities tied to their heritage.

  • Vitality: You gain an additional 8 hit points at 1st level.
  • Mixed Heritage. Your bloodline is not purely that of the Solthir— it is shaped by other ancestries. This mix manifests in unique physical or magical traits. Choose two racial traits from another race and Subrace, representing your mixed heritage. You cannot select Ability Score Increases in this way. If one of the chosen traits is similar to a trait you already possess (such as Darkvision or a resistance), only the stronger version of the two applies. Traits that grant spellcasting use your Intelligence as the spellcasting ability, unless otherwise stated. The DM has final approval on trait combinations to ensure balance within the campaign.
  • Ancestral Radiance. The spark of your Solthir ancestry manifests in your resilience and radiance:
  • You are Immune to the effects of extreme heat and can Survive for up to two weeks without water.
  • You have advantage on saving throws against being blinded or charmed.
  • Sun’s Resilience. The golden metal of your skin grants you additional resilience. When you are hit by a critical hit, you can use your reaction to reduce it to a normal hit. You can use this ability once per long rest.
  • Radiant Pulse. As an action, you can unleash a burst of radiant energy from the golden patches of your skin. Each creature of your choice within 10 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). On a failed save, the creature takes radiant damage equal to 2d6 + your level. On a successful save, they take half damage. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest.
