Backstory
In the time of the "Goblinoid Uprising" Barik was a dwarven engineer a pioneer in mechanical ingenuity. He along with the First Magister discovered the magical properties of the prismatic crystalline structures found across the realm. Together the two of them helped to design mechanized weapons that turned the tides of the uprising crushing the goblinoids and their leaders ending the conflict in a matter of months. Afterwards Barik would go on to modify and refine the designs crafting all manner of mechanical tool and weapons from firearms to hulking mining constructs pilotable by humanoids. Along with the First Magister he helped set the foundations for the Magisters Consortium bringing the kingdoms of the realm into a peaceful alliance to avoid another uprising. After the First magister passed Barik would leave the Consortium following her predecessors unsavory behavior, beginning to horde the technology Barik engineered then banning the populous from owning or using such technology. Later on he joined the rebellion against the Magister during which came into contact with a powerful curse causing his form to wither away. Once the rebellion was thwarted he retreated into a small village to practice his craft. Using his prowess as an engineer he crafted a mechanical body and through arcane tinkering he managed to bind his memory and mind to the construct. Now powered the crystals he has used for centuries he leaves his forge at the news to seek the guidance of the Oracle.

Barik intrigued by the murder of the magister stirring questions about a new rebellion forming or what could have facilitated the Murder of one of the most protected Figure heads in the realm

Possibly looking to form a new Rebellion against the Magisters Consortium to break the Nuanced hold over the people the magisters wield and return the equality of technology for all
