Description

Trying to access any page on the site returns the trying to peek at private entry popup udan

Going to my profile returns 404

Opening notifications returns no notifications regardless of side bar and not having deleted them for Summer camp

Solid black pages

Site shows that I am not logged into any of my worlds. Told I can switch to all of them

Hey, the issue was our servers being overloaded - it should be back to normal now.

Today things were normal until going to read an article in discovery block. When clicking the upper left world anvil icon to return to mainpage am given the trying to look at a private entry popup again.

Can it be due to some functions opening a second window tab while others do not?

clicked on an article in discovery, second window opened, read article, left a like

clicked on worldanvil icon in second window was given trying to view private entry

closed world anvil waited a few minutes to respond here.

I feel that these issues are in some way attached to the left side bar. The left side bar is missing when the errors occur. I have had persistent issues with the left side bar. Notitably using the editor; if the left side bar is opened the right edge of the editor is missing and you are unable to see what you are typing. The new editor was reduced to the size of an index card and you could not input a single character.

Errors happen more often when using windows 11 instead of windows 10

Thanks for the info, we will be looking into these and will keep you updated as soon as we have a fix!

The PC uses windows 11, big monitor, the login/welcome page from left to right shows Welcome, Discovery and Featured box.

The laptop uses windows 10, smaller monitor, the Featured box is moved underneath the Welcome box.

Maybe this difference is part of the cause?

Hi Absinthe, are you able to take pictures of everyrthing that's happening so we can verify which things you are referring to as we all use different vernacular to describe things, which makes it hard to narrow down. For example: what do you mean you close the discovery box? The widget that contains the widgets? Thank you for helping us to understand this better!

Hey, just to confirm a suspicion I have, do you have cache and cookies enabled on your browser? And if so, do you clear them/delete them often? WorldAnvil needs them for storing / caching information and some of these screenshots make me wonder if that's what's missing when you load parts of the interface.

Yes enabled. These problems started the first week of flash fiction. They do not happen as often on the laptop which is windows 10. This PC is windows 11.

Conducted an experiment this morning.

Opened world anvil first with no other tabs.

No problems until a second window automatically opens when clicking on a discovery article to read.

Can leave a like or comment on that page. Using any other command starts the error messages in that tab.

Usually the error messages also appear on the primary world anvil tab when closing the article tab. They carry over.

Today without having my other daily tabs open, the error messages did not migrate to the primary tab.

Generally I have five other tabs open before opening world anvil.

Sitting idle world anvil at this moment uses 423MB of memory.

Hey Absinthe, we have made some fixes that were possibly what caused you so many errors - please observe again and let me know if the consistency of the error changes!
