Oline stretched before she stepped out of the door, the early morning air was a bit chilly. So she had put on one of the large coats that was gifted to her, a couple of years ago.
The citizen of North Favuldfield were so nice to her, even though they didn't know her at all.
All they knew that she washed up on shore, naked. But still they gave her clothes, food and a home.
She herself had started the sea shell jewelry store. The main reason why she was out in the cold. She had run out of shells.
The wooden door closed behind her, a dolphin jumped out of the ocean and made a flip. Something humans would see as something adorable.
But she knew what that dolphin was, her father's spy. She waved at it, and kept on walking towards the beach.

But she knew what that dolphin was, her father's spy. She waved at it, and kept on walking towards the beach.
The fine quartz, mixed with other materials would feel so good on her skin, if she was walking bare foot.
Something which she was shocked to experience that for the first time a couple of years ago.
This was right after her father took away her voice, her home, and her mother. He cast her out all because she didn't want to use her magical voice to sink ships.
Her mother was of the same opinion, and that was what got her killed. Something she didn't know, but her father was gracious enough to share it with her. Right after he took away her voice and cast her out of the sea. She hated him so much, and she prayed to which ever God who wants to listen, to protect her sister.
A part of her wanted to blame Elna as well, why didn't she fight for her? Why didn't she try to overthrow their father? Why didn't come to see her?
Of course, the last one can be related by her abusive father. He might have forbade her. And basically that might be the answer to all her questions as well.
Elna is the strongest person she knew, but she wasn't able to challenge their father.
Maybe her punishment has played a part in it as well.
Something she felt a bit guilty for, but there was nothing she could do about it now.
Slowly she moved down, closer to the sea. Closer to her former home, it is where the beautiful shells are.
Only for her heart to stop beating.
The two figures where lying lifeless on the sand, one of them she had only seen from a distance.
The Prince of North Favuldfield, Eigil Søprins.
But the other figure was just on her bloody mind, her sister. Her very naked sister.
She had arrived naked as well, and to her shame it were fishermen who found her. And she didn't had the voice to explain it to them. Maybe that was for the best, because it was not long after that when she discovered that in other kingdoms women got burned alive. Only because they were different.
But those fishermen, didn't judge out loud, they brought her to their wives. Who gave her clothes, it where the same fishermen who gifted her little cottage. A place she called home.
She quickly put off her coat and wrapped Elna in it. But there was no way that she would be able to carry her sister to her house. She then quickly glanced over to the Prince.
He would be able to do it, she only prayed that he was still alive.
She quickly rushed towards him, and placed her hand in front of his noise. She could feel the breath leaving and entering. Good, now she needed to wake him up. She started to rub his arm violently, it took him some time to wake up.
"What in the Underworld happened."
His speech was a bit slurred, but she would take care of that afterwards. He blinked a few times.
"Oh, Shellgirl. I didn't know it was you."
Shellgirl that is the name, the locals gave her. All because she wasn't to speak out her name. And humans for some reason she couldn't understand sign language.
She started to point at Elna.
He glanced over to her.
"I can't believe she is real."
Again her heart stopped beating, this meant that he was subjected to Elna's voice. Well again that is a problem they needed to solve that another time. She quickly tapped on his shoulder the draw his attention back to her.
She pointed to Elna and then to her home.
He nodded and stood slowly, a bit wanky, but he was standing. He picked her up and the both of them walked towards her cottage.
***********
Oline lowered herself next to the bed, Elna's breaths was shallow so she wasn't far from weaking up.
Eigil was sitting in a wooden chair, his head leaning on his chest. He was fast asleep.
So she turned her attention towards him. She took a deep breath and let her magic pull the water out of his lungs. Her magic wasn't as strong as it once was. Her time away from the sea has its effect. But it is still working, maybe she should dip her toes inside the sea. Her father had kicked out of the pod, not out of the sea. Still she didn't want to risk it.
Elna started to stir, and opened her sea blue eyes. She pushed herself up and started to look afraid.
Oline rushed towards her and placed a hand on her sister's shoulder.
"Where am I?"
"On land."
Oline signed.
"That witch, I am going to kill her. I am really going to kill her when I get back."
It didn't escape Oline that, Elna used the word when, and not after. But she didn't want to dwell on that. She was however glad that her sister was here, safe and sound.
"So, this is where you have being?"
Oline made a knocking motion with her fists.
"All this time?"
This time Oline just nodded.
Elna grabbed Oline's hands and squeezed it slightly. Her beautiful fire red hair, fall over her shoulders. Her sister always looked so much like their mother. In every single way, maybe she lacks a spine when it came to their father. But then again their mother, for the longest time lacked that as well.
"I am so sorry, Oline. I should have being stronger. I should have stand by you."
Oline shock her head.
"You did what you thought was best, you needed to survive."
Elna shock her head, her hair flew everywhere. She looked down and sighed, she was clearly ashamed of her actions.
Oline then pointed toward the Prince, and Elna's eyes grew.
"I can't believe that he survived. Father, had send Marete and me to get two ships. He was on one of these ships."
"He is the Prince of this Kingdom."
Elna frowned, and Oline feared for a moment that she needed to explain the concept to her sister.
"Flounder, told me something about this, I believe. The land has being divided into small groups, some of them are ruled by Kings and Queens. Like, Min Herre is trying to rule the ocean."
Oline, didn't know who Flounder was but the explanation was accurate.
Yet at the same time it was a bit off as well.
"He is quiet handsome."
Elna whispered softly.
Oline glanced towards the Prince, and her sister was right. The man was tall, slightly tanned. His black hair was short now, but she had seen it long as well. But his most beautiful asset were his eyes. They were light blue, something she hadn't seen before today. 67
She only dared to admire him from afare. This was littarly the first time she had seen him upclose.
“He is still under your spell.”
She wanted to take her attention away from the Prince, and back to her sister.
But her sister was still glancing over to the sleeping man.
So Oline waved her hand to get her attention.
“You need to break the spell, he will die if you don’t.”
Elna smiled softly, something she always does when she taught about something that would piss their father off.
“Father doesn’t know that I am here, so I am going to stay here and let him show me this world.”
Oline shock her head.
She was planning to do what? She might have not taught this through.
Their father knows where Oline is, he knows where to find her. And it will not take him long to find Elna as well. And when he those, his rage will be deeper then the ocean itself.
Oline didn’t want to think of the horror’s he might inflict on the place that she has started to call home.
“Members of our kind went on shore, to see what this world had to offer.”
“Our kind once flew above the lands and sea, and humans started to hunt us down. That is why we moved down in to the sea. Sister, please reconcider.”
Elna knows the stories about their kind’s history as well as she, their mother made sure about that.
“Please Oline, give me three days. Three days that is all I need. Flounder has told me so much, and now all I want is to see it with my own eyes.”
Still Oline didn´t know who Flounder was, and right now she didn´t care.
Her sister was begging, something she has never done before. Which was already strange, what had happened to her over the years? The answer to that was simple, but still something to keep in mind.
"Alright, I am not going to stop you, but why do you need him?"
Elna smiled.
"You said yourself that he is the son of a leader, he can open doors that otherwise may have stayed closed. Flounder shared with me that human love their social hierarchy."
This was once again a very accurate statement.
"Who is Flounder? Another Siren?"
But Elna rolled her eyes as she shock her head. Something else she hadn't done before.
"No, Flounder is a soul that I have kept for myself. He has being sharing so much about his former live."
"And father didn't mind?"
She already knew that he would, so she raised up her hand. As an indication that Elna didn't have to answer that question. She then glanced back at the Prince, and looked straight into those sky blue eyes
"Did the two of you just talk?"
Elna started to chuckle slightly.
"Are you really going to tell me that humans don't use sign language?"
Oline shock her head as a reply, which made Elna laugh even more.
"And they keep calling us monsters."
The Prince frowned, and looked confused between the two of them. She could see that he was trying to connect the dots.
"I know that she is a Siren."
He pointed towards Elna.
"But are you also one of them?"
"Yes, she is. But you do not have to worry about her. Our father took away her voice, that is the reason she can't speak, let alone sing."
Oline glared at Elna, she wanted to tell her to shut up. This was not something she was willing to share.
But Elna didn't care, she only had eyes for the Prince. Which was something she couldn't blame her sister for.
"You two know each other?"
This time Oline nodded, but she knew that he wouldn't understand if she signed. So she turned towards Elna.
But Elna said nothing, she again looked the Prince up and down.
Something Oline couldn´t blame her for.
The Prince stood up, and groaned slightly. He had fallen asleep while he sat down, so he might feel a little stiff.
"I need to go home, and tell my parents that I am alive and well. Don't you worry, I will not tell them what you are. Because the two of you saved me."
If he only knew that the reason he was in this mess was because of her younger sister. But she was not able to say anything, not in the way that he would understand.
He walked out of her simple cottage.
"Don't worry about it Oline, he will not tell a soul. But now please tell me everything that happened to you over the years."
Elna moved away the sheets, she was still wearing Oline's coat. She need some clothes of her own.
"First we need to get you dressed, and I need to teach you how to walk. Otherwise you will have very boring time on land."
